Capsule of Culture

As we are coming towards the end of 2020, we think we can all agree it has been a very memorable year.  So, RLB360 has launched an initiative, to record what we all will remember as one of the most pivotal and poignant years in world history inside a time capsule which will be permanently displayed inside RLB360, situated within the region’s most iconic building – the Royal Liver Building.

For the ‘Capsule of Culture’, RLB360 wants your ideas and input on what you think should be placed inside it – items can represent the significant good, bad or difficult events or issues of the year which have impacted the Liverpool City Region and ultimately will help shaped our culture in some form this 2020 year.

We are encouraging members of the public together with primary schools and secondary schools to take part.

We have a judging panel of very familiar faces with strong ties to Liverpool from a range of sectors and your ideas will be brought before them to best reflect the year of 2020.

So please email capsule@rlb360.com with:

  • details of what item or items (maximum 3 per submission) you think should be in the capsule
  • why the item(s) should be included in the capsule
  • your contact details (individual or school/form)

Suggestions can continue to be submitted until the end of November.

During December, the judging panel will meet (where possible) to confirm what will go in the capsule.  The capsule, kindly sponsored by local telecoms contractor MJ Quinn, will then be installed in January within the RLB360 visitor centre.
